Cartoonish Wrench Design

Step 1:

Let’s start out by creating a new file. I used a 400×5400 pixels canvas set at 72dpi, and I filled my background with black. In a new layer draw a vertical rounded rectangle with #171717 color shade and 20 x 95 px dimensions.

Step 2:

Under Layer Style(Layer > Layer Style) add an Inner Shadow, Inner Glow, Satin and Gradient Overlay blending options to the vertical rounded rectangle layer.

Step 3:

In a new layer draw a gray ellipse with #ACACAB color shade and 43 x 57 px dimensions. In another new layer draw a black rounded rectangle with 20 x 32 px dimensions. Now go to Select > Load Selection, default settings to add a marquee selection around your black rounded rectangle. Then select the gray ellipse layer on the layers window and cut out the selection as shown below.

Step 4:

Delete the black rounded rectangle layer since you don't need it any more. Then under Layer Style(Layer > Layer Style) add an Inner Shadow, Inner Glow and Gradient Overlay blending options to your cut out ellipse layer.

Step 5:

In a new layer draw a small gray circle with #ACACAB color shade and 11 x 11 px dimensions.

Step 6:

Under Layer Style(Layer > Layer Style) add an Outer Glow, Inner Glow and Stroke blending options to your small gray circe layer.
