Alien Virus Photo Effect.

Step 1:

Start with a photo file you want to add the effect on, grab the image below or use your own and open it in photoshop.

Step 2:

Create a new layer set and name it 'Infection'. In a new layer draw a black ellipse with 42 x 74 px dimensions on the arm.

Step 3:

Under Layer Style(Layer > Layer Style) add an Inner Glow, Gradient Overlay and Pattern Overlay blending options to your black ellipse layer. Then set the layer's blending mode to Lighten.

Step 4:

In a new layer draw random red spots with #F00402 color shade for blood. Then set the layer's blending mode to Linear Burn.

Step 5:

Add more blood lines and spots around the infection.

Step 6:

Add a marquee selection around the infection design and go to Edit > Copy Merged. Then go back to Edit > Paste. Now sharpen the copy design through Filter > Sharpen > Sharpen More.

Step 7:

Now erase the outer edges of the infection design as shown below.

Step 8:

Duplicate your Infection design and apply a Plastic Wrap effect through Filter. Then go back to Filter > Distort > Wave, use the settings below.

Now set the layer's blending mode of the duplicate infection to Hard Light.

Step 9:

Now decorate the whole arm with the infection design, use the wave filter to make each infection like design unique.

Step 10:

Add a marquee selection around your whole canvas and copy merged it through Edit. Then go back to Edit > Paste. Now go to Filter > Artistic > Plastic Wrap, use the settings below.
