Stylish Blog Header With Wooden Panel Navigation Interface Design.

Step 1:

Let’s start out by creating a new file. I used a 900×270 pixels canvas set at 72dpi, and I filled my background with black. Now in a new layer draw a large rectangle with #001334 color shade and 900×175 px dimensions.

Step 2:

In a new layer draw a white long rectangle with 900×23 px dimensions.

Step 3:

Under Layer Style(Layer > Layer Style) add a Drop Shadow and Gradient Overlay blending options to the long white rectangle layer. Then set the layer's blending mode to Darken.

Step 4:

Duplicate the transparent rectangle layer and drag it up by a couple of pixels. Then set the layer's opacity level to 18%.

Step 5:

In a new layer draw a brown rectangle with #231000 color shade and 900 x 55 px dimensions.

Step 6:

Under Layer Style(Layer > Layer Style) add a Drop Shadow, Inner Shadow, Gradient Overlay and Pattern Overlay blending options to the brown rectangle layer.

Step 7:

Add a transparent rectangle layer on the bottom side of the wooden panel.

Step 8:

Select the Horizontal Type Tool then set the font family to Arial, bold, 15 pt, none and white color shade. In a new text layer type your navigation links on the wooden panel.

Step 9:

Now add your twitter and rss links on the right end side of the wooden panel. Then add a search box design on the right side of the header.

Step 10:

In a new text layer add your website name using font Arial, italic, 24pt, smooth and #025CFF color shade. Then in a separate text layer add your slogan with a smaller white font.
