Do you have an AIM mail account? Are you tired of loading up their slow, memory intensive webmail? Look no further; this guide will tell you exactly how to set up AIM mail to work with Microsoft© Outlook Express

Step 1.) Open up Outlook Express(Start -> Programs -> Outlook Express) This guide will assume this is your first time using Outlook Express. Upon starting, you should be granted with a popup asking for your name. As the box says, fill in your name. Then click Next.

Step 2.) Fill in your complete e-mail address; if you do not fill it in correctly, no one will be able to respond to your email, as it will send it to whatever you enter here. Don't enter the e-mail that's on the screen, it won't do you any good ;) Again, click Next.

Step 3.) In the dropdown box, select "IMAP" as this is what AIM uses. Your incoming mail server is going to be imap.aim.com. However, unless you live around Phoenix, AZ and you're ISP is Cox Communications, your SMTP server is going to be different, hence the blue box. If you are not sure what your ISP's SMTP server is, try searching for it, or calling them. Click Next.

Step 4.) Fill in the information it is asking you, which is your AIM login details. Whether or not you check the "Remember Password" box is up to you; I did. Make SURE you do not check the "Log on using Secure Password Authentication (SPA)". Click Next, and then when prompted, click Finish.

Step 5.) You may be greeted with the following popup alert message; click "Yes" and when you can, click the "OK" on the bigger box that shows all of your folders.

Step 6.) You're all done! Your AIM mail account should now be fully and successfully synchronized with Outlook Express. You may want to customize your settings further, to include a signature on all outgoing emails and such, but this guide does not cover that.
